After decades in my “day job,” I finally decided it was time to chase the thing that had always lit me up—photography. I’ve been obsessed with travelling and documenting the world around me for as long as I can remember.

My first real camera came from a very unconventional place: working in a remote opal mining town in Outback Australia, whilst living underground in a former opal mine that had been converted into a home. I traded my wages for camera gear… and an opal for my girlfriend. No regrets on either investment.

Perspective

In recent years, I’ve taken on short term roles in remote corners of Australia so I can keep fuelling this passion. Whenever I get the chance, I head for the skies. Aerial photography has always been a thrill—leaning out of a Cessna or helicopter with the doors off is equal parts exhilarating, challenging, and expensive. Thankfully, drones have made capturing those perspectives a little easier (and a lot cheaper).

I’m deeply passionate about the environment and believe we all share responsibility for protecting this fragile planet. My motto sums it up:

“A birth certificate shows we were born, a death certificate shows we died, but photos show we lived.”

Having travelled across all seven continents, I’ve built an extensive archive of images spanning many years. My work has appeared in various publications, and my favourite destinations—beyond the Australian Outback—include Antarctica, Iceland, Norway, Morocco, Cuba, Peru, Patagonia, Spain, Namibia, the USA, India, Bhutan and Turkey.
